Meeting the Needs of Individuals with Multiple Barriers to Learning

What are we aiming to achieve?

This research will provide and disseminate a report detailing the critical success factors for engaging individuals with multiple barriers to learning into Welsh Assembly Government funded provision. The objectives of the research are to: Outline the scale and effectiveness of current adult learning provision in meeting the needs of learners facing multiple barriers; Identify gaps in provision; Identify potential synergy between DCELLS funded provision and related activities; Identify ways to improve and promote these synergies to the best advantage of learners; To identify best practice; and To disseminate the findings at a national conference.

How will we do this work?

The methodology for this project is as follows:

·         Undertake a literature review and call for evidence in order to gain a broad understanding of the research and project work on barriers to learning

·         Hold focus groups across Wales to obtain detailed evidence from stakeholders

·         Questionnaire distributed to stakeholders

·         Analysis of data
