Investing in Quality

Quality Improvement Funding is now Live, guidance and the application pro-forma are available for download

As a reminder:

  • the QIF 2010 budget is £200,000 between 2010 and 2012, and up to £6,000 of funding is available for each application approved;
  • further education institutions, HM Prisons, the Welsh for Adults Language Centres, local authorities and training providers which are directly funded by the Assembly Government to deliver post-16 learning in Wales can apply for funding, with a further round starting in 2011 for work-based learning providers;
  • it is anticipated that up to 30 applications will receive QIF support in the first round;
  • the focus of QIF 2010 is the in-house development and implementation of quality strategies to help improve learner outcomes, learner and employer responsiveness and leadership and management;
  • paragraphs 8 - 9 of the guidance provides information on the type of activities QIF should be used to support;
  • collaborative bids are welcomed, up to £6k is available for individual applications, but the level of funding for any collaborative bids will be agreed on a case by case basis;
  • successful applicants will be expected to share their outcomes with other providers. DCELLS' quality web page and networking/partnership events will facilitate this; and
  • successful applicants will be consulted in the evaluation of the IiQ programme and will be given the opportunity to develop and feed into the future funding opportunities made available through this programme.
