WCVA Engagement Gateway Funding
NIACE Dysgu Cymru's projects
NDC was successful with 3 WCVA projects, which together cover the whole of Wales. Our Convergence project covers 14 counties across Wales, the Competitiveness project covers those 7 counties and we have a stand- alone project in Carmarthenshire. To date NDC has held four monthly panels, from September to December, to assess partner requests and has issued almost 30 sub-contracts throughout Wales to our partners. Organisations can still apply to us for funding, please see the dates of the next panel meetings when we will be discussing which bids to fund . Tasters approved so far include IT, nail art, bricklaying, hairdressing, First Aid, electronics and family learning. What could you do ?
Who is eligible to attend your taster sessions?
The WCVA Engagement Gateway projects in Convergence and Competitiveness areas can only target those who are economically inactive (i.e. not claiming JSA or ESA). People can be claiming Incapacity benefit (only with no additional benefits), or they can be employed for under 16 hrs per week (and not claiming any additional benefits).
What's the process for applying for funding?
Partners are now invited to submit to us a 'Partner Request Form' detailing what tasters you'd like to organise, what groups you'll be targeting and how many participants you're aiming for.
From now on this WCVA Engagement Gateway project will be excepting rolling applications until May.
How does this fit with your other projects?
As these projects are focused on the provision of short, bite-sized learning opportunities, they can fit very well with other projects - giving people a chance to have a try and freeing up your project funding to try out new approaches. If a participant attends a free learning taster session, as part of this project, they can progress onto other partners' WCVA projects - the aim being to help the learners' journey and progression.
If an organisation is not on the WCVA Approved Supplier List, we still want to know about your other projects and opportunities as they can provide progression for our participants and offer your service good referral opportunities. If you have a group of potential participants for the project please do let us know - we can work with our providers to deliver bespoke tasters for you!
